After documents have been assigned document numbers and have been imported in logicDCMS it is possible to start with the creation of revisions for any specific document.
Creation of revisions might take place inside your own company or by any vendor.
As a result files are created. These can be in native format like Microsoft Word files, Excel files, Autocad drawings etc, or in PDF format.
In the case of internal created documents they probably will be stored on the companies network in agreed (sub)folders.
Certain is that these revisons will have to be exchanged between companies. In case of deliverables they will have to be exchanged with the client.
In case of vendor documents, vendor will have to provide these to your company.
This process of exchanging documents can take place in several ways:
logicDCMS is based on the concept that all exchanged documents are stored in transmittal folders.
For each external company which will receive or sent documents a separate transmittal folder (structure) is needed.
Workflows in logicDCMS can be used to automate the exchange process partly. With the workflow module it is possible to create transmittals, to create e-mails with attachment and send these
e-mails.
